Obituary for Norris Carl Assam

On October 15, 2019, at age 77, Norris Carl Assam left this life without suffering.

Norris was born on September 20, 1942 in Trinidad to Harold and Yola Assam. He was the second of nine children. Norris worked as the Sales Director for the Assam family meat distribution business in Trinidad. In the US, he worked for Saks Fifth Avenue as a supervisor in the shipping department, from where he retired in 2010. In 2013, he returned to work as a parts delivery driver at Salvo Auto Parts. Norris was full of life and loved his family. He enjoyed music, movies and long drives.

Norris is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Carolyn Assam; father to Stephen (Glenda) Peterson, Stacey (Todd) Smith, Natasha (Jason) Stergion, Nigel Assam; grandfather to Tameka Peterson, Ariel Smith, Eden and Alec Stergion; brother to Kelvin Assam, Mervyn Assam, Jasmine Assam, Michael Assam, Wayne (Christine) Assam, Jennylyn (Michael Paul) Assam-Paul, Jacqueline (Robert) Fullerton, Jason (Laverne) Assam; brother-in-law to Richard (Antoinette) Frederick, Sandra Frederick; uncle to many nephews and nieces; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Yola Assam, sisters-in-law Monica (wife of Kelvin Assam) and Sandra (wife of Mervyn Assam).

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 2pm at Rosedale Baptist Church, 9202 Philadelphia Road, Baltimore, MD 21237. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Rosedale Baptist Church in Norris Assam’s name.
