Jeane Horne McWilliams, 85, of Glen Burnie, Maryland born July 24, 1934 in Lima, Oklahoma, passed on Thursday September 12, 2019 at her home.
She was a career government employee in the Washington DC area, starting at the Department of the Treasury. She also worked for National Naval Medical Center before eventually retiring from a position at the Uniformed Services of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, where she received an Outstanding Achievement Award.
She graduated from Norman High School in Norman, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma, with an Economics and Finance Degree. The year she enrolled, was the first year women were permitted to pursue an Economics and Finance Degree. Five women entered the program, and she was one of two to complete her degree.
She was affectionately known as “Mama Jeane” and the “Producer” to the cast of Do or Die Productions, the interactive murder mystery company founded by her daughter.
She was devoted to her teacup Chihuahua, Maggie May.
She is preceded in death by her father, William Horne, Mother Ruby Hughes Horne, Brothers William Dale Horne (Geraldine), Albert Jefferson Horne (Lil), Mary Sue Walker (Kurt), and Anne Harris (Bill) and niece Mary Horne Peterson.
She is survived in death by one daughter Carol Jeane Crowe (Scott), niece Margaret Ann Lapsley, Wes Harris and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for September 27, 2019 from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at Sunset Restaurant, 625 Greenway, Glen Burnie, Maryland. There will be light food service and a brief ceremony at 8:00pm. RSVPs to email@example.com are welcome, but not required.
