Obituary

Obituary for Fred Montgomery Dedmond

Fred Montgomery Dedmond at 88, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Barbara Feltner; his daughter, Laura; his son, Bryon and his wife; his brother, Curtis; his sister, Barbara; many nieces and nephews; his grandchildren, Angela, David, Ashley, and Andrew; four great-grandchildren, and many close friends.

Born and raised on a farm in Mooresville, North Carolina, the son of John Dedmond and Grace Dalton. Since childhood, he’s loved the country and fishing.

In 1948, he joined the U.S. Army, where he was a Private First Class. During his service, he was stationed in Okinawa. After serving with the Army, he worked at Maryland Cup as a mechanic until he retired.

When Fred moved to Baltimore, he met his wife Barbara where they fell in love in 1966.

He loved dogs and dog shows. He enjoyed watching horse races and westerns. His favorite time was watching the Baltimore Ravens with his family. He also was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing with his wife for many years.

In lieu of flowers, Fred’s family asks that you donate to the American Cancer Society in his honor.
