Jan will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She loved her family above all else and was always there for them. When Gary's wife Paula (my sister) was losing her battle with breast cancer Jan moved in to their house to help take care of Paula and also to be there for Gary and the kids. It was a horrible time for them and Jan provided much needed emotional support. I loved her for that. After Paula's death she stayed so she could continue to be an emotional support as they grieved. We included Jan in all our family get togethers and vacations. She was such fun and I will never forget her laugh! She loved life. We will never forget her. The picture below was taken at one of the family crab fests. Grandson Mat is with her.

Linda Lane

To the Townsend Family,
We are so sorry for your loss.
I'm sharing a few photos. One was taken at Deep Creek Lake (family group photo) in 1999 and the other was taken in 2007 at a crab feast my sister Kathy hosted. As you can see in that photo, Jan has a bite of crab in her hand!
Jan was a wonderful lady, a lot of fun to be around and share a good laugh. She had a great laugh. She was a trooper. One year she came to Deep Creek Lake and slept in a tent because there wasn't room inside the house for another person.
She was a lover of animals, especially her dogs!
You are all in our thoughts. We will be there in spirit.
Love,
Linda & Randy
